Holding patterns

We're loosening the leash (somewhat) on D. I'm pretty uncomfortable but the status quo wasn't sustainable for anyone. He's 18 and treating him like he's 12 is unreasonable.

Last week the weather turned pretty nice. He was sailing on Tuesday and Thursday. C was bringing the boat down on Friday and was planning on D's help. On Wednesday, D was home late, after an NHS meeting. He needs to be at school on Friday, until 3:30 or so. That will be too late to help with the delivery.

Friday night he had tickets to a concert. He was at school all day, with his friends for a few hours after that and then heading off to the concert. At 1, he sent a text to say the concert was fun and going late. Repeat at 2. He finally came home around 5, after the car was towed (by the Pirates) and recovered. Three hours of sleep then off to help with the high school regatta.

Sailing all day, pizza at the harbor and then friends at night. Repeat Sunday.

It seems like the minimum amount of homework and studying is being done.
Or not that much.....

On the other hand, he says he's staying clean. I wish I could just believe him.
I need the test results to prove it.
