Lots happening but no posts.
Graduation: M's was very nice. D was there too.
D's graduation was great, with bizarre tense undertones. His friend from 2nd grade came (and he went to hers), our family and C's parents. Whitney Young had almost 500 graduates and the ceremony was at the Arie Crown Theater at McCormick Place.
D has been in the National Honor Society since sophomore year (with many sarcastic comments about how stupid it is), so he had a white robe, rather than the blue robes of the other graduates. Also, in the program, he was listed as in the top 15% based on GPA, and as having more than 400 service hours. On paper, everything looks so good and honorable. The reality-- not so much.
Up to the last, I was afraid something would happen or he would fail a required class or something. However, he pulled it off or out and his high school years are behind him.
He's up at summer camp now. The atmosphere at home is so much nicer and more peaceful.
